Justin's Wings of Hope

Endowed Scholarship

Justin’s Wings of Hope Endowed Scholarship was established in 2011 with a mission to honor the memory and legacy of Justin Samela Miceli who was a student-athlete in the Iona educational system.

The Wings of Hope Endowed scholarship allows Iona College to offer financial assistance to students who need additional resources to fulfill their aspirations of obtaining a college education.

This scholarship’s mission is to have a role in transforming the lives of its recipients as they endeavor to make a meaningful impact on their community as an educated, informed, and engaged citizen.

Since its inception, the Wings of Hope Endowed Scholarship has given five young people the opportunity to pursue their college education and will continue to issue one scholarship per academic year.  Preference will be given to students who participate in classes at the Hagan School of Business, demonstrate a commitment to community service and athletics through participation in service organizations and athletic events, and demonstrate financial need

determined via an approved uniform methodology formula (FAFSA).

In addition, recipients must maintain a cumulative grade-point-average of no less than 2.5.

The Iona education system had a powerful impact on Justin’s life as a student-athlete.

As a result, Justin’s Wings of Hope Foundation wanted to provide others with the

opportunity to have the same experience.
