Iona College: Cards of Hope Event

Each year Justin’s Wings of Hope Foundation partners with the Commuter Student Association (CSA) at Iona College for an annual “Cards of Hope Event” to honor Justin's memory and legacy of community engagement.

During the event, students write cards to members of the community who made a difference in their lives. Alicia Samela, Justin’s Wings of Hope Foundation’s president, joined students on February 26, 2020 to pay tribute to those in the community on Iona New Rochelle campus.

Justin was an honors-student-athlete at Iona College and active member within the campus community. The event takes place annually around Justin’s birthday.

We thank Iona College for their continued support and the students who participated in this wonderful afternoon of spreading gratitude and hope.

The mission of the CSA

"Commuter Student Association (CSA) is an organization specifically for commuter and off-campus residents of the Iona College community. We are an organization that gives commuter students a place to go to state their comments and concerns about commuter life. We are also an organization that gives commuters and off-campus students a way to get involved in the Iona College community and the New Rochelle community at large. We are a unified coalition of students who work together to try and make positive changes to commuter life. We sponsor events to unify commuter and off-campus students to bridge the gap between residential life on campus and students who live outside of campus. In addition to all this, our goal is to have fun doing it!"
