Tribute Tuesday

Today, we honor the remarkable Dr. Catherine “Cathy” Anne McGovern — a true force of compassion, dedication, and courage.

Born on the Ides of March in 1959, Cathy grew up in the Bronx as the oldest of five children, paving the way with her determination and drive. From cheerleading and student government at Fordham University to earning her medical degree from Albany Medical College, she worked tirelessly — juggling scholarships, jobs, and late nights — to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor.

For 35 years, Dr. Cathy served the White Plains community as a beloved OB/GYN, delivering over 2,000 babies and caring for generations of women with warmth and kindness. Her own greatest blessings are her sons, Luke and Jake — and in 2024, she joyfully welcomed her daughter-in-law, Sandra, into the family.

Her professional excellence was recognized time and again, from Westchester Magazine’s Healthcare Hero to over a decade as a Castle Connolly “Best Doctor.” Beyond medicine, she has given her heart to service, serving on the boards of Hospice of Westchester and the Heavenly Productions Foundation.

In 2024, Cathy retired — but soon after was diagnosed with ALS. True to her nature, she meets this challenge with courage, faith, and grace, determined to make more memories with her loved ones.

Cathy has been with Justin’s Wings of Hope from the very beginning — at every event, offering her support, her laughter, and her unwavering presence. Today, we honor not just her extraordinary career, but the light she continues to shine in our community.
